7 Things

The beautiful and funny Ramsey, over at Love, Ramsey, tagged me ever so sweetly in 7 Things.  So, without much futher ado, I would like to share with you, 7 Things about growing up, Katie style:

Yep, that's me.  I look like the spawn of Jim Carrey or something.
  1.  I was a BIG time thumb sucker.  Yep, that's right.  Me and my thumb.  Best friends.  I was real sad the day my Mom took me to the dentist to have one of those pricky things glued into the top of my mouth after mittens and Tabasco sauce didn't do the trick.  I was 15.  Whoooaaa!  Kidding guys....Five!  I was five!
  2. I was obsessed with Paula Abdul and would dance around my bedroom choreographing dances to 'Straight Up,' 'Forever Your Girl' and every other song she sang for hours on end, all day, by myself.  Don't ask if I had many friends...
  3. In the third grade, my dance teacher Karen took me and four other girls to try out for Star Search. (See how # 2 paid off!?!)  I did a solo three pique turn across the dance floor.  Unfortunately, we didn't make the cut and I never got to meet Ed McMahon.  Rest his soul.
  4. In the fourth grade, I made my Grandpa really proud by winning the mile run in our entire school district.
  5. Growing up, I had the biggest troll doll collection, ever.  Yeah, you know they were rad.
  6. I used to ride my bike to school and in the seventh grade, a really stupid boy threw a grape fruit at my head on my way home one day.
  7. My popularity peaked in eighth grade when my fellow classmates voted me "Best All Around" and "Most Likely to be Famous" for the year book.  Thanks for jinxing my fame guys...
Anyhoo, there you have it.  7 (un)interesting factoids about moi, growing up.  Read em, and I weep.

Now, I am tagging, Ashely, Hayley, Rissa, Leah, Allison, Jade, and Lula.  Just go with it!  Muahahahaaha!!  I mean, Mu-wah!  Xoxo!

Afterthought:  Is it entirely awkward that my Dad thought that was a recent photo of me?  Ohh gah...

thanks for the tag!

I personally (after reading your blog for all of two days--but I read a lot) do not feel that you peaked in 8th grade.
Oh and I am all kinds of jealous of your star search experience!

I am trying to learn about the HTLM world, it intrigues me but I suck at it. I love your list of facts.

I just came across your blog and love reading your posts! I was also a big thumb sucker, same thing glued to the roof of my mouth and all!

I absolutely loved this! Especially the fact that you would dance around to Paula Abdul. Because my sister, cousins and I may have done the exact same thing. Plus singing. Really bad singing, haha.

OMG. I just spit out my morning diet coke. That picture is hysterical.

And I think we may have been separated at birth. I sucked my thumb... until I was old enough to be going on car dates... lets just leave it at that. But surprisingly I have NEVER had braces! My theory? I pushed my teeth out and made room for he others. My dentist says thats not right...

Remind me to find you the Christmas pic circa 1990 when I insisted on wearing my santa troll EARRINGS in the photo that went out on our CHRISTMAS CARDS! I made mom real proud.

PPS thanks for the tag!

I possibly loved troll dolls a lot as well (gosh these are the things we are not supposed to admit huh!)
I still have my santa troll doll and he comes out every year and sits proudly in my room - i love him!!

OMG!!!! My jaw DROPPED when I saw this pic of you. Talk about the duckling turning into the swan!! ;) Sadly, it reminds me of ME around that same age. I was a serious ugly duckling, myself. I still haven't forgiven my mom for "letting" me look, act, and dress the way I did. Goodness gracious, thank God we grow out of those phases, yes??!!
