DIY Scrabble Necklace

Recycle old scrabble tiles by making a personalized and one-of-a-kind necklace!

What You Will Need:

1. Scrabble Tiles
2. Scrapbook Paper or Cardstock
3. Utility Knife
4. Mod Podge
5. Two Jewelry Bails
6. Necklace Chain and clasp.  ( I bought around a 20 inch chain.)

What to Do:

1. Come up with your word.  It could be your name, initials, an acronym such as OMG, LOL, or a word like LOVE.  Three to four letters work best.  A single letter works well too.
2. Place Scrabble tiles on the wrong side of the paper, trace around tiles and cut paper to fit.
3. Mod Podge the wrong side of the paper and back side of the Scrabble tiles.  Glue paper and tiles together.
4. Make sure tiles are even.  You may need to place some Mod Podge between each Scrabble tile.
5. Press firmly on the tiles and allow time to dry.
6. Cut away any excess paper with a utility knife.
7. Mod Podge the front of the Scrabble tiles and paper.
8. Super glue the two jewelry bails on each end of the paper.
9. Place the chain through the bails.
10. Apply clasp and wear!

(Extra note - I didn't like the way the chain hung just above the Scrabble letters so I superglued and taped the chain to the letters to hide it.)
