A Journey

Skirt, Shirt : H&M; Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls; Purse and Earrings: (?)
Hello butterfly.  I hope you don't mind if I call you that.  A girl told me once she was deathly afraid of butterflies.  I couldn't imagine why!  I love everything about butterflies; their beautiful colors and their effortless  flutter.  I love the metamorphosis they endure from a dependent caterpillar, to a hibernating cocoon, to a beautiful winged body that can fly.  Their journey is symbolic to our lives as we mature into our own magnificent beauty.  A magnificent beauty that is more powerful on the inside than it is on the outside.  And it may take a while to learn that.  I should know.  When it comes to collecting clothing and jewelry, I love anything that depicts butterflies because when I wear them, they are a reminder and symbol of my own metamorphosis.  Naturally, I fell in love with this botanical skirt at H&M beautifully portraying the monarch.  So, if you are still hibernating in your cocoon, why don't you come out and show us your colors and just how high you can fly.  K?

I love how the skirt really pops out, when you wear a solid color on top!
Love the part where you said "A magnificent beauty that is more powerful on the inside than it is on the outside. And it may take a while to learn that".
Very inspiring words to read.
That's funny how a friend of yours was afraid of a butterfly. But hey, people can be afraid of all kinds of things! I remember once, and this was back when I used to watch daytime talk shows, (cough, Maury, cough), but there was one woman who was afraid of...band aids. Yep. Band aids.

I have always loved butterflies! I have a card framed in my room that says " just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it turned into a butterfly"
anyway, can we switch legs?

There are two cocoons on my backyard chain-link fence. I look forward to when they hatch. Maybe I will be luck enough to catch them in the act ;)

I'm afraid of lady bugs... which is pretty much as weird as being afraid of butterflies. :) Love the skirt! I wish there was an H&M in UT, or that they would finally open up an online store.

I am so glad I found your blog! Love your style! HOWEVER, you can lump me into the being afraid of butterflies category. When I was a kid someone told me they were poisonous and I would freak out if one would come near me. Still to this day I run!

The morning before I almost died in my accident, I woke up to over 100 butterflies fluttering in my resort condo kitchen...Ever since that morning, I have believed that the wind that butterflies wings create change the direction that your life is heading... every time I see a butterfly I get goosebumps! :)
