Fierce vs. Fearce

There's something about the colors red and black paired together that make me feel fierce.  Like, "Hey, you!  Yeah, you old man over there on your bike staring while I snap photographs.  Don't mess with me."  And then a honey bee buzzes in my atmosphere and I screech and swat like a little girl, tripping over my four inch heels.  I don't know.  I guess I pick my moments of fierceness.  
With every situation in life, we can choose to be fierce or fearse (get it, fear-ce.  Yes, I realize it's a made up word.  Do it all the time.)  Sometimes, I grab life and run with it.  I can be that confident girl who knows what she wants.  And at other times, I let fear creep in and hold me back.  Even if it is something I want to do, I won't do it.  Simply out of the fear.  The fear of saying the wrong thing; the fear of putting myself out there; the fear of rejection; the fear of failing...Fear is not our friend, friends, because it causes us to pass up opportunity.  But what if.  What if we didn't let fear creep into our hearts.  What if we chose to live fiercely.  Every day.  And to not let opportunity pass us by.  A very wise woman once said to me, "Who could you be without that fear?"  And that is such a poignant question to ask yourself.  Who could you be?  When we react fiercely vs. "fearcley", we pilot our life to the destination we want to live, rather than end up somewhere that maybe we never really intended to go, simply because we were flying on autopilot.  If we never try, we'll never know. 
So, I'm going to swallow these words I've just written, and I'm going to do something that I've been wanting to do, but too nervous.  I'm going to pick up the phone and invite a gal to lunch, who I have been dying to pick her brain.  What fierce move are you going to make today?  Check.  Checkmate?
