Maui'ed Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today, I married my Husband, in Maui, Hawaii.  It was a very small and intimate ceremony with thirty of our closest friends and family.  A tsunami warning was put into effect on the morning of the big day, from the earthquake that hit Chile hours before.  Thankfully, there was no tsunami.  And the weather couldn't have been more perfect.  Our ceremony began at 5:00 PM, as the golden sun hung low over the Pacific.  We walked barefoot on the grassy knoll that overlooked the ocean, to draw us nearer to each other and the earth, as we shared our vows.  I opted for a simple Nicole Miller wedding dress, and wore a white orchid behind my ear.  Orchids symoblize love, beauty and strength.  We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our relationship and our personalities, and liked the spontaneity and romance of a destination wedding in Hawaii.  The day was completely about us, as we didn't get carried away details or guest lists.  We were surrounded entirely by love and beauty.  And that's all that mattered.
