I've realized some things about myself; I'm fickle. I kinda change my mind. And I get bored easily. I said I wouldn't do it again in this post, but I did. I went blonde.
A couple days ago, I sat in the chair at Zolton's Salon, as Alayna foiled my hair. We talked for a long time. Then it was quiet. At one point we laughed because I mentioned how I forgot what a process being blonde is. Two and a half hours later, she rinsed the bleach, toner and familiar look from my hair. And as I caught the very first glimpse of my "new" hair, I suddenly felt shocked. (Not in a bad way Alayna, if you're reading this.) The thing is, I no longer identified myself as a blonde. Even though the majority of my life, that was my hair color identity. Blonde was my natural color by birth. When I hit thirteen, I put lemon in my hair and laid in the sun, hoping for sun kissed highlights. During my college years, I frequented the salon obsessively often, to brighten my mane. I was blonde.
Three years ago, I changed my life. I changed my marital status. And, I changed my hair. I felt as though I was growing up and no longer felt the desire, or the chase, of being blonde. I was, and I am, happy being more natural. Natural is less maintenance, and allows yourself to shine through. For the first time in my life, I no longer viewed myself as blonde.
So why did I do it? Why did I go back to what I really call the dark side? Well, refer back to my first few sentences of this post. Even though I still don't identify as a blonde, I still like to surprise myself. I'm not used to my new look yet, but 'll embrace it. Because no matter what they say - blondes have more fun, brunettes are smarter, etc. etc., hair color doesn't change the heart.

I like the blonde! I looked at the post you linked and you look great with any hair color! I'm so tempted to change my hair up, it's naturally a light brown, but I'm scared about the damage. Your hair looks fab and healthy though, love! :)
I went through about 5 years of natural and decided to go blonde like you. Now I'm pondering going back to a dark blonde (natural) in the weirdest time of year. Summer? I love your color either way!!!
Wow, I've always wanted to be able to change my hair color drastically. I have dark brown hair and going too light wouldn't look great on me - no matter how much I want it. You've got great coloring to change it up though!
Looks great...love visiting your blog and reading your post and admiring your great sense of style. Have a super day!
You look great as a blonde. Hair is just hair. I think of it as a fun accessory. You can always change it, grow it out, whatever it is. Hair is just hair =)

i do the SAME thing. "i'm tired of blonde...i want something different..." but it's always back to blonde! your hair looks bomb.
I like the blonde! Stay true to you girl! You always look great regardless.
I love your blazer! And you look absolutely stunning.
I think it's fun to switch it up. I was blonde for years (dark blonde is my natural color) then got tired of covering my slightly darker roots, so I went light brown. It was great, too!
But I needed a change a few months back and I got all crazy and tried out the ombre hair color trend. I LOVE IT. You look fantastic as a blonde...switching it up makes life interesting :)

Loved this post! I dyed my hair back to brown a year ago after over a decade of being blonde and WOW! It's definitely a shock at first. There are still the days when I miss being blonde and get the urge to go back. We'll see. But I agree, hair color doesn't change the heart :) Your hair looks great!
I having a hair identify crisis myself, I keep thinking it will be fun to go light but I know I feel like myself as a brunette!

Katie! I love it. LOVE it! It is fun to change up the hair every once in awhile! And like you said, hair color doesn't change the heart. Being blonde again doesn't mean you have to have the mindset you had in college, before you met your hubs! Enjoy your pretty hair and the gorgeous sunshine AZ in getting :)
I know what you mean about thinking of yourself as a certain hair color. It took a while after dying my hair brown for me to stop thinking of myself as a redhead.
You look lovely as a blonde!
Your hair looks fab girl!!! But I can understand feelings about hair. It's such an important part of a girls life...speaking of I really need to go book my appointment in!
You look beautiful in blond!!! I've had highlights for so long, I've no idea what the natural color is now...guessing totally gray. When Changing up the color, I tease hubby I'm giving him a new woman, lol.
That first picture is stunning!

I have only thought of you as a blonde, I would say you are just blonder now. all looks beautiful! change is fun :) xoxo
You were blonde in your wedding pictures, no? I think you look great as a blonde :)
Your hair looks fabulous, but after all is said and done it's kinda like an accessory that we can easily change, we are identified by who we are aside from what we may look like on the outside but I do love that pink skirt!
I really like it!

Katie, good move with the blonde-you look great as usual. I just lightened my hair as well. Going lighter always makes me feel so sparkly and fresh! Too bad it's getting soo warm outside. Byebye all the cute layered outfits...
You look so gorgeous blonde, and brunette. Ok, so you are just gorgeous!

So the blonde is gorgeous, but you look STUNNING with the ombre dark blonde. I'm a hair stylist and I just did the exact same thing as you, and I'm missing the slightly darker color. Oh well, we always go back to our roots.
You're lucky that you can pull off both blonde & brunette! You look great & I want that blazer:)
Both ombre and blonde look fantabulous on you!

it looks great on you!!!
You look beautiful either blonde or brunette. So many people can't pull off both looks and be confident.
It's interesing how you don't identify as a blonde anymore even though you are naturally blonde. I am a natural blonde and have highlighted my hair for years but as I've got older my feelings on being a blonde have changed too. Maybe as we grow older we are wiser, haha.
Happy Weekend!

You are so pretty no matter the color of your hair!!
I just dyed my hair a lighter shade of blonde (also born blonde and chased blonde for many, many years). I've realized over the past few days that I wish I hadn't done it! I was fine with my more natural "dishwater" shade and wish I had the money to go "fix" it now! You look beautiful with both colors and I'm sure you'd look amazing with any color hair!

love the blonde! it looks great!
I'm glad to see there are others like me who have to change their hair every once in a while. I have always viewed myself as brunette, even when I go blonde I don't really get it... It's funny how much hair color can affect your identity!
Anyway, you look good either way! :)
Gorgeous!
I like blonde on you! The outfit is cute too :)

I love it. I went through the same brunette/blonde battle for two years. Blonde won.
You look great!
As a fellow blonde, I love it!
it's a very pretty shade! I agree that hair color can really affect how you feel about and identify with yourself!
I can totally relate! I used to highlight my hair and was super blonde. Once I dyed my hair dark, it took me years to stop identifying myself as a blonde.
You look beautiful either way though!
