Florence, to me, is the epitome of Italy. It was definitely one of my favorite spots, yet, I can't decide if I liked it more than Rome. Maybe. But I am unwilling to commit to that statement. You see, they just have very different vibes. In Rome, you experience ancient times, but in Florence, you see the Renaissance, which makes Florence nothing short of magical. From the narrow streets, to the arched bridges, to the Arno River, the culture, and art. There is just so much that embodies Firenze.
Every evening, we would walk to the Ponte Vecchio, where there would be live music playing, and we would watch the sun go down. It was one of my favorite moments from the whole trip. It is definitely a place I want to go back to and explore more of. We only had two nights here, so it was difficult to experience everything. A funny moment from the trip was when Grey the mime clown, came up behind me while I was walking through the plaza and squeezed the back of my knees. It startled me so much , I screamed out loud. Fortunately, he didn't wipe his white face paint all over me, as he did some unlucky tourists. I also really loved looking into the eyes of David. Michelangelo blows my mind, he was so brilliant.
Where We Stayed:
Hotel David - Winner on Trip Advisor last year for best hotel, and highly recommendable. Friendly hotel staff, very clean rooms and lots of character.
Museums We Saw:
Academia Gallery - Michelangelo's Statue of David, which is truly a masterpiece.
Uffizi Gallery - One of the oldest and most famous art collections in the world.
Museo Gallielo - Features artifacts such as telescopes, world globes, stethoscopes, navigation instruments, and Galileo Galilei's fingers in a jar.
Museum of Archeology - Housed an amazing Egyptian collection, especially of mummies.

I am headed to Florence to meet up with a close friend next spring (when she is studying abroad there). Thank you for the beautiful photography. I somehow am even more excited to go now!
Wonderful photos per usual. When I was in Florence a few years ago, it was SO crowded and the lines to the museums were so long it was something we missed out doing. You captured the feel of Florence wonderfully- I also want to go back someday! www.eatplaylovethattop.com

Your pictures are absolutely stunning. These posts are making me crave a vacation badly. And I love your maxi dress outfit with the red belt-so cute!
I agree about the different vibes of Rome and Florence but, I can't help but love the Florence vibe more. I spent three days in Rome which was a relatively long time compared to the one I spent in Florence but I can't shake the feeling that I had the time amounts reversed.
Such gorgeous pictures! I'm definitely going to use that list of museums as a guide if I ever go.
