Positano, Italy

As luck would have it, we had an open day with nothing planned on the Amalfi Coast.  For some reason, we arrived in Ravello one night ahead of schedule, which meant, we were able to spend a night in Positano!  {Woohoo went my heart!}  Really, it worked out even better than we could have planned, because we were able to book a room at the Eden Roc through booking.com at a 50% discount on a last minute deal!  We had the most spectacular  view from our room, as you can see in the very first photo.  Positano is really a gorgeous place, which is precisely why it is called the 'Jewel of the Amalfi Coast'.  It has the best stretch of coast line.  And looking at the view of the city has been the same for years, and years and years due to building restrictions.  The town is so perfect, with it's narrow streets filled with little restaurants and shops.  Every building, every view, is picturesque.  Bougainvillaeas and blooms blossoming everywhere.  And the Mediteranean Sea is heavenly. It's so blue!  
Granted, we only had a day to spend here, and as I have mentioned before, you need at least two full days to truly experience a place.  So, I felt our time here was very limited.  The little time we did have, we spent walking through the streets, eating delicious pizza and gnocchi, and of course, having more than our fair share of gelato.  I wish we had one more full day here, so we could have relaxed on the beach.  But I guess I'll just have to find another excuse to go back and find my spot in the sand!
